American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD)
The nation’s largest disability rights organization promotes equal opportunity, economic power, independent living, and political participation for people with disabilities.
Disability Rights International
The leading international human rights organization dedicated to protecting the rights of people with mental disabilities. It’s top priority is the Worldwide Campaign to End the Institutionalization of Children.
The National Council on Independent Living (NCIL)
Advances independent living and the rights of people with disabilities through consumer-driven advocacy. Services include information and referral, independent living skills training, individual and systems advocacy, and peer counseling.
The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN)
The nonprofit membership organization for the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Systems and Client Assistance Programs (CAP) for individuals with disabilities. Collectively, the P&A/CAP network is the largest provider of legally based advocacy services to people with disabilities in the United States.
The National Organization on Disability (NOD)
A private, non-profit organization that promotes the full participation and contributions of America’s 56 million people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Focuses on increasing employment opportunities for the 79 percent of working-age Americans with disabilities who are not employed.
