
Rosemary Ann Blanchard serves on the Executive and Steering Committees for Human Rights Educators USA (www.hreusa.org) and was Chair of the Human Rights Education Community of the National Council for the Social Studies (2013–2019.) She is an Associate Professor of Education Emeritus with California State University Sacramento and included in the roster of adjunct instructors and academic researchers in Peace Studies at the University of New Mexico. She has a Ph.D. in Educational Policy (University of Illinois, 2001), a J.D. (University of Connecticut School of Law, 1972) and an M.A. in Sociology (Johns Hopkins U., 1972). Dr. Blanchard’s current research and advocacy interests include curricular research and policy advocacy to support incorporating human rights and humanitarian law into core American social studies education.
