
Marcy Sutherland is the Associate Director of the Park Center for Independent Media at Ithaca College where she develops initiatives and programming to strengthen critical media literacies across campus and the local community. Marcy is also a skills coach for Open the Lid, a local non-profit that supports individuals with disabilities.
Marcy brings more than 20 years of experience across K–12 education, higher education, nonprofits, and international service. As a classroom teacher, instructional coach, Peace Corps Volunteer, and nonprofit leader, she has worked to create inclusive learning environments, support youth and educator development, and advance equity-centered outcomes. She is a creative and mindful thinker focused on building long lasting connections, relationships, and change.
Marcy holds a B.S. in Community Health Education from Ithaca College and a M.S. in Education from Long Island University-Brooklyn, and was a NYC Teaching Fellow. Marcy lives with her partner and pup in Ithaca. She is an avid traveler, outdoor enthusiast, aunt of two, and a social connector.
