
Bill Fernekes served as a social studies/Spanish teacher and social studies supervisor for 36.5 years at Hunterdon Central Regional HS in Flemington NJ, where he led the development of a global studies program that incorporated the required study of international human rights. He served on the Amnesty International National Educators Steering Committee, as a consultant to the Education Department of the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and currently is a part-time lecturer at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education, where he teaches courses in social studies education, global education and human rights education.
