Rick Halperin is Director of the Embrey Human Rights Program at Southern Methodist University. During his more than 40-year affiliation with Amnesty International USA, he has served three times as Chair of its Board of Directors. He has also served on the boards of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, the Center for Survivors of Torture, the International Rescue Committee, and the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. Halperin holds degrees from George Washington University, Southern Methodist University, and Auburn University.
