Eames Eiden is a student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, majoring in foreign affairs and conflict resolution. He is committed to advancing human rights through education, policy research, and international engagement. Eames recently completed a policy internship at the European Policy Center in Belgrade, Serbia, where he focused on democratic governance, transitional justice, and the role of international trade in regional stability. During his time in the Western Balkans, he explored how countries like Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania confront—or often avoid—acknowledgment of past atrocities, including genocide, ethnic cleansing, and war crimes. His work centers on the importance of historical remembrance and justice as prerequisites for long-term peace and reconciliation.

Eames has also been involved in civic and human rights education initiatives, both in the U.S. and abroad, with a focus on empowering youth and underserved communities to understand and assert their rights. He believes that human rights education must go beyond theory—it must be rooted in lived experience, memory, and resistance to silence. Through his role with Human Rights Educators USA, he aims to support more inclusive, historically aware, and justice-oriented models of education that engage with the realities of systemic violence and global inequality.
