Carmen Eugenia Barba Barcena, EdD (candidate), is a high school social studies educator in San José, California, and a doctoral candidate in the International and Multicultural Education program at the University of San Francisco. Her research examines world history curricula in the United States, France, Mexico, and South Africa through the lenses of human rights education and de-colonial theory. She is committed to creating inclusive, transformative learning environments that empower students to critically engage with historical and contemporary issues.
