Benil Mostafa works as an education research analyst at Porticus North America, a global philanthropic foundation. She has previously conducted “know your rights” workshops with refugees and asylum seekers in New York City and in Turkey. Benil received her MA in Human Rights with specialization in Forced Displacement and Children’s Rights from Columbia University and a BA in International Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her previous work includes Human Rights Watch, Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies, and International Rescue Committee. She is co-chair of HRE USA’s Child Rights Advocacy Working Group.
