Program Consultants

Jazzmin Chizu Gota consults HRE USA on the development and publication of a monthly newsletter, technical support for publication related projects, and other project management related tasks.

Jazzmin Chizu Gota is a doctoral student studying International and Multicultural Education with a concentration in Human Rights Education at University of San Francisco. Her research interests focus on visual and multimedia arts, media literacy, and evaluating diverse methodologies for teaching, implementing, and applying Human Rights Education across disciplines and mediums. Jazzmin holds a MA in Human Rights Education from University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in New Media Design. At present, she works as a multimedia designer and communications consultant for educators, nonprofit and educational organizations, and small businesses.

Natela Jordan consults HRE USA on social media and communications, including WordPress blogs and updates, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter/X.

Natela Jordan is a nonprofit and public sector consultant. She has over two decades of local, national, and international experience leading innovative education, capacity-building, and community engagement projects. Projects have included intercultural development and DEI, program and curriculum development, qualitative research and climate studies, communications and community engagement, and more. Natela also collaborates as a consultant with Library Strategies.

Kristi Rudelius-Palmer is HRE USA’s strategy, curation, and program consultant and serves as the Program Director to liaise with our fiscal agent, the Center for Transformative Action, network members, and donors. She developed the HRE USA Leadership, Staffing, & Financial Sustainability Plan, facilitated the design and implementation of the 2022-24 Curriculum & Training Action Strategy Plan and Online Media, Podcast, and Communications Plan. She also oversees the financial and sustainability operations for HRE USA.

Kristi Rudelius-Palmer is a Human Rights Education Consultant and recently completed her Ph.D. defense on “Stories as Theories: Illuminating Human Rights Education Through the Narratives of Human Rights Educators” from the University of Minnesota. She is a co-founder of Human Rights Educators USA and the University and College Consortium for Human Rights Education. Kristi is collaborating with human rights advocates, educators, and young people to create innovative programs and models of human rights teaching, dialogue, civic engagement, service learning, and reflection in classrooms and communities throughout Minnesota, the United States, and globally.

Kristi coordinated and edited the Human Rights Education Series, published by the University of Minnesota Human Rights Resource Center. She served as Co-Director of the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center from 1989-2016 and as an Adjunct Professor of Law and director of the Humphrey Fellowship Program at the University of Minnesota Law School from 2003-2016.  In addition to teaching courses on human rights education, rule of law, and leadership at universities, primary and secondary schools, and community-education settings, Kristi presents at numerous international, national, regional, and local conferences. She received the first Edward O’Brien Award for Human Rights Education from Human Rights Educators USA in 2015 and was awarded the University of Minnesota Outstanding Community Service Award in 2003.

Jessica Terbrueggen collaborates with the HRE USA Project Director to develop and implement fundraising strategies, including researching funding sources, drafting proposals, managing tracking systems, supporting the drafting of annual reports, and fostering partner relationships and projects. She’s is also a Regional Rep for Washington D.C.

Jess is an international educator, human rights practitioner, and literary arts advocate. She holds an MA in English Education from Columbia University. Her global leadership experience has included advancing innovative education models in China, India, South Korea, Ecuador, and the United States. As a collaborative leader, she partners with international human rights organizations, international schools, and various human rights stakeholders on the development of projects, programming, and curricula, with a focus on educating for a sustainable future. Jess works at the District of Columbia International School. She is a member of the NCTE Standing Committee on Global Citizenship, as well as a mentor for young entrepreneurs at the Resolution Project. Jess serves on the HRE USA Steering Committee, is a Washington, D.C. Regional Representative, works with HRE USA as a Development and Growth consultant, and is the Communications and Public Outreach Coordinator for the HRE USA podcast, Human Rights Education Now! 

PAST CONSULTANTS

Kaylee Taylor Bradford worked to develop the 2022-23 Strategic Action Plan for curriculum and resource development, including K-12 Collections, the Curriculum Integration Guide, and Professional Development resources. She coordinated the 2022 and 2023 HRE USA Training Corps volunteers to gather and formulate a Training As Action Series (TAAS) Toolkit, consisting of TAAS overview/goals, facilitation guidelines, communications strategy, session curricula, and evaluation tools. She completed the 2022 and 2023  TAAS Evaluation Summaries and Reports.

Kaylee Taylor Bradford  is a global educator with over eight years of international training experience. She has a M.A. in International Educational Development from Columbia University, specializing in Peace and Human Rights Education (HRE). Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of sectors including human trafficking prevention, refugee education, substance abuse rehabilitation, and research management. She is currently an independent educational consultant assisting a variety of organizations with curriculum development, research, monitoring, and evaluation. Most recently, Kaylee investigated preservice HRE for teachers in the United States and presented her work via webinar for the HRE USA community. This year, Kaylee hopes to further the incorporation of HRE into  United States teacher preparation and training by working with HRE USA to develop a teacher education action strategy for the 2021-2022 project year, including research, training, and advocacy work.

Kristina Eberbach served as a Growth Advisor to refine the sustainable fundraising strategy and plan. She also supervised the Community Engagement and Development Edmonds Fellows during the Summer 2022

Kristina Eberbach is an expert consultant in human rights and education programming. She is a Strategy and Curriculum Specialist for the  Human Rights Close to Home program at the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute at the University of Connecticut and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She served as Deputy Director at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights from 2019-2021 and as Director of Education from 2010-2019. 

At Columbia, she implemented education initiatives including a Human Rights Training Series, a Human Rights Studies M.A. program, an undergraduate major and concentration, a summer program, and the University Human Rights Education in Myanmar project. She has developed and facilitated human rights courses and workshops for students, members of civil society and government officials in the United States, Colombia, Iraq, and Myanmar and has undertaken research, reporting, and advocacy work in the United States, Kenya (International Crisis Group), Myanmar, The Netherlands, South Africa, and Uganda (Charity for Peace Foundation). She is a founding member and the co-chair of the University and College Consortium for Human Rights Education. Kristina is also a doctoral student at Utrecht University where her research is focusing on the role of human rights education and training in transitional contexts.
