Civil and Political Rights

“I think it is necessary to realize that we have moved from the era of civil rights to the era of human rights.”

~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Civil and political rights are a class of rights that protect individuals’ freedom from infringement by governments and private organizations, and ensure one’s ability to participate in the civil and political life of the country without discrimination or repression.
