Maureen McCorry serves as the Regional Director for the California Global Education Project at Stanislaus State. Maureen has taught US and world history, world cultures and geography, government, economics, and contemporary foreign policy for twenty years. Maureen’s expertise includes course design that is interdisciplinary, incorporates service and civic action, and leverages partnerships with artists, scholars, diplomats, government agencies, and community-based organizations from Modesto City Schools to San Jose and Palo Alto Unified. Travel, especially to China, Cuba, Iran, Israel/Palestine and Mexico, has transformed her teaching and world view. As a methods professor and supervisor to credential candidates at Brandman and Stanislaus State University, Maureen has promoted instruction and lesson design that is rigorous, culturally responsive, and develops student voice and agency. Maureen has also led an environmental grassroots non-profit, advised first-gen college graduates on behalf of COOP Careers and Stanislaus State and volunteers for the International Rescue Committee.
